Linden Tree is located in the historic market town of Thirsk. Famous for the work of world renowned vet James Herriot, Thirsk has some great landmarks and utilities just on your doorstep.
White Horse
The famous White Horse dominates the skyline of Thirsk. Originally created in 1857, the Yorkshire landmark is regularly maintained to ensure the unique white appearance of the horse is still visible from miles away.
The White Horse is a great place to go and explore during your time in North Yorkshire. You can walk up to the peak of the hill and take in the horizon of our county.
If walking isn't for you.. then book yourself a gliding trip off Sutton Bank. Take the sky and see for miles!
On a sunny day you can even see York Minster!
Fishing
We have some great fishing lakes close by, with the award winning Woodland lakes just 1 mile from the Linden Tree.
There is also the Oaks at Sessay and Tollerton Ponds to name just a few.
Groups welcome, we can accommodate up to 15, so come and enjoy a fishing break in this perfect part of North Yorkshire.
James Herriot Museum
Thirsk is famous for the veterinary practise of James Herriot. In his memory, his home and veterinary practice have been restored to become 'The James Herriot museum' and is now one of Yorkshire's most popular attractions and has won several tourist attraction awards since it's opening..

Brymor Ice Cream
Only a 30 minute drive from your stay at Linden Tree is the Brymor Ice Cream, nestled in the Yorkshire Dales. Brymor provides a unique experience when visiting, as you can not only sit and enjoy your ice cream in the sun. But, you can visit the cows that actually produce the milk used in Brymor's Ice Cream range.
There are up too 150 seats in the parlour so you won't be disappointed or be fighting for a seat!
Inside the café you can also order food from their "light grazing menu".
With over 25 flavours Ice Cream there is surely something for everyone. You can also take your Ice Cream home in packs!
